The landmarks are:
North Rim Side..........You are looking straight down into Hakati Canyon , with Fan Island in the foreground left. Looking to the right , you see the un-named "tit" which is down from King Crest, between Hakati &Walthenberg Canyons.Marcos Terrace is behind the 'tit" jutting out below Wheeler Point (not pictured) into the curve of the River. As you look out over the top of Marcos Terrace, you see Apache Point/Point Quetzal way in the background
SouthRim............First and foremost is ......you are looking right at Mt.Huethawali !!!! This is what I was actually taking the picture of ! Just below Mt. Huethawali in the picture , you look straight into Copper Canyon. Fiske Butte is on the right, and WallaceButte/Tyndal dome on the left. Little did I know at the time I would be getting a great shot ofthe area we will be hiking into ! Not much of a shot of S.Bass, but a great view of the wholeTonto between Tyndal and almost Garnet Canyon.Looking right from Copper, the last "sunlit butte", where the River turns left , is the last big chunk of rock to hike around before getting into Garnet.

Sorry about the upside down type - the picture was taken from the North Rim facing South. Very hard to find a South facing orientated map.
